About The Manor

In Talui dialect, the name Wolorim roughly translates to 'Beckoning Heights'. The same can also convey the meaning as 'Welcome to the Cliff'. The word 'Wolo' in Talui dialect means come and 'rim' is short for 'arim' which means 'cliff'.

The Dungrei area in which this manor has been built was once a wooded forest area and now has developed into a thriving business and residential locality of Hungpung. Much of the forest cover have disappeared, though some still managed to survive. The need to look after the neglected woodland and to possibly provide for a natural surrounding became a cause.

After much study, time and consideration, it was felt that a stone structure reflecting the old as well as the new would best suit the environment, space and atmosphere for the best of Tangkhul hospitality. The Wolorim Manor was thus born.
